I'm looking to purchase my second AR, and have 2 options. Which do you think is a better value if both are the same price ($750)?
1. Brand new Stag Model 2. With case and 1 30-round magazine 2. Lightly used Rock River Arms flat top, with heavy barrel, flip-up sights, chrome bolt carrier, dark earth magpul furniture, aftermarket charging handle, case and magazine. |

What are you planning on using the rifle for?
Unless you are only shooting varmints or targets from the bench, I would pass on a heavy barrel. I had a heavy barreled RRA rifle in the past and it sucked if you had to carry it around all day (it was very accurate though). |

Well, the dealer sold the Stag, but I noticed they have a lot of Spikes gear.
Did some negotiating, and can get a Spikes complete upper (16", chrome-lined barrel, 1/7 twist, gov't profile, M4 feed ramps, flat top) for $450 and a complete lower for $250. So $700 for a brand new Spikes. I really like the set-up, what do you know/think about Spikes? |

Unless you are planning on shooting mostly from a bench, I would go with the Spikes. |
