I found AIM had a Spikes tactical m16 bolt carriers for $109 so I bought two...waiting on the order to fill.

I will most likely buy a Spikes upper to go with these, one middy and one full-length.

However, looking at Spike uppers, they only seem to come with the bolt carriers and don't have the option of removing the bolt carrier when ordering.  Looking at the pricing it looks like if I go with the Spikes, it would be just as easy to cancel my AIM order and just wait until I had the money to buy the complete upper.  I only ordered the bolt carriers because they were on sale.  Assuming that spike's uppers are priced at $399 like BCM without the carriers, then the bolt carriers included with Spikes is about $125.  So it only saves me $10 to order the bolt carriers now.

Or I could go with BCM for $399 on the uppers and keep my spikes bolt carriers.  I'm just vain enough that I would like to keep the number of manufacturers involved with this purchase to a minimum.

It is really your decision on how to go about this.  I am like you and prefer to keep manufacturers to a minimum but I used a Spike's BCG on my last BCM build mainly due to the fact that BCM is almost always out of stock on their BCGs at the moment.

Really you can't go wrong with a high quality BCG and the Spike's and BCM are basically identical besides the logo.  So even if you end up buying the complete Spike's upper later you either have a spare BCG or the start of your next build.

I really did'nt see a question to answer.
However if it were me I would get a Spikes Middy from Joe Bob outfitters whenever they are in stock (They could be there now).
Call joe bob and ask him , he gets them in pretty quick.

Heck if you can afford it keep at least one of the Aims BCG's for a spare.

Sorry I wasn't really clear was I?

I was basically trying to figure out if Spikes had the option to order their uppers without the bolt carrier....if not I can just go with BCM when they finally get them in.  No biggie either way, it's a frankengun anyhow.  The lower is Roggio (please don't rub it in) and the LPK is DPMS.

Sorry for the confusing post, I suck! :D

I would call them and ask them for a price without the bolt carrier. I'm sure they would be willing to work with you.

I, too, bought the Spikes BCG for 109 and installed it in a new BCM middy yesterday and took it to the range today. Perfect combination. Chewed up and spit out 4 different types of steel ammo and was on target in five minutes. Just my experience with a Spikes/BCM build. As an aside, I also took a new complete Spikes build to the range yesterday, great as well.

I ordered a Spike's 9mm upper from them last year minus the bolt (provided my own) which they built for me. I'm not too sure if anything has changed though. Yes the best thing to do is give them a call. I called in my order the last time. You could also post this in the Spike's forum under the Industry section here.

If you call AIM they will sell you one minus the BCG, or at least I read so in their Industry section.

Personally, I'd keep one of the BCGs for a spare. You can't beat that price and it's a quality piece!
