The HK MR556-A1 has a reversable charging handle. You can move the latch from the left to the right side and both sides of the upper have the cutout for the charging handle latch. Seems like such a simple idea that I'm surprised nobody has done it before with the standard AR15 upper

There is a charging handle that has the latch on both sides which I find easier

Yeah, but the barrel is not chrome lined so that means it automatically is not a tier 1 rifle.

Hmm, I'm with you.

I guess we see it emerging more with contemporary manipulation techniques since the original charging handle is supposed to be ambidextrous, IF you grab it with a finger on each side.

nothing great since it's  a mod that can't be done on the field without tools.

btw, I've seen KAC uppers with the cutout on both sides

Maybe that'll be the next big thing,it will be $50- more for a NON lined barrel

+1 Same here!

I've been trying an ambidextrous CH which is ArmaDynamics ACLM, I had not broke mine yet but I had heard other members here had some bad experiences with them, well it's been about a year now no problems yet but if it happened I'll post it here.

There's also the Badger Ordinance ambi/ lefty CH that I had not tried yet, maybe someone here could comment on it.

I'm still waiting for Troy to release their ambi CH.

The thing to watch out for in the AR fashion world: Non chrome lined barrel and ambi CH!
