OK I shoot in Mass quite a bit and a flash hider is not legal there so the good old bird cage is not legal. Looking at the Phantom from YHM but am more interested in least amount of noise increase with muzzle control. Not interested in a major increase in noise. Any ideas.
Thanks Dave |

Thanks Dave The Battle Comp is probably what you want. I have two and they work as advertised: no louder than an A2 flash hider and good muzzle control. Griffin Armament has released a similar product, as has Spike's Tactical (the Dynacomp). They are a bit cheaper than the Battle Comp. Initial reviews of them seem favorable. |

To my ears, the Battle Comp isn't any louder than an A2 to the shooter or to observers. (I've stood to the side while others have used my BC-equipped rifle.) Quoted:
I was unable to find the Dynacomp on Spike's website. Any links? Check their industry forum. I don't know if it is officially on sale. IIRC, the reviews I saw were from members of their shooting team. |

Dont forget that you are going to have to pin the compensator and pin your stock and not bring any "pre-ban" mag's into MA as well.
Of note, I have the battlecomp, claymore, pws556, KKF fake flash hider(no longer available.) The claymore and KKF is the best if you are concerned with noise, the battlecomp is the best all around comp, the PWS keeps you on target the best of the three. |
