Do you guys have any recommendations for scopes on an A2.  I know ACOG is the shit, but it's also significantly expensive.  Any other recommendations don't involve crazy, goofy mounts?

You'd probably have more luck with this question if:

1.  You post in the optics forum.
2.  You say how far and what you're gonna shoot.

I like me some leupold and weaver, personally.

My first suggestion would be to swap your upper out for an A4.



Barring that, then the ARMS #2, #2EXT, the IOR Carry Handle Mount, or the Smith #1037.



For optics, if you want a fixed power scope, look at the Burris 4x20 Timberline.

Yep, you may not want to hear it, but I would start with a flat top receiver if you want to go glass and do it right.
You don't say what your requirements are, but one that I'm looking at is the Vortex PST 1-4x.
It illuminates for CQB mode at 1x and is variable for mid range work. $500....mid range in price as well.
There's an MOA reticle and a MRAD reticle.
Handled one the other day.....waiting for a deal.

The TA01 is a some $$$ but it's worth every penny.  I found one used then added a two-stage trigger.  Great shooting rifle.

They are not made anymore and the refurbed surplus Israeli 3x21's for sale are not cheap.
