I am new to the forum and wanted to say hello to everyone.  I have slowly been putting together parts for an AR build and wanted to see if the fine peeps of this forum could give some pointers.  I have been lurking here for awhile now and realize that there are many people full of knowledge. so far my build list goes:

LRB Arms Lower
DD LPK
VLTOR Modstock
BCM Gunfighter harging handle
DD BCG
Magpul MBUS 2 sights (on order)
Troy 9" Battle Rail

Now I have yet to buy an upper and but I I'm pretty sure I am going to go with a DD 16" LW Middy.  How do these compare to say a BCM or Spikes.  They all seem to be in the same price range but that doesn't always mean same quality.  I plan on using this rifle, and using it alot.  I have already picked up 1000 rounds of XM193 and 1000 rounds of PMC XTAC as well as 10 PMags.  I know the whole getting the saddle before the horse speech but I wanna be prepared when I get this rifle put together.  I have also planned a carbine class for the summer just to really get aquainted with this rifle.  It is my irst AR and I wanna do it right the first time.  Are there any suggestions anyone can give me or am I on the right path?  I also ordered a PA Micro Red dot.  I dont wanna shell out the $$ for an aimpoint at the moment until I give a less expensive red dot a try first.  I have read good reviews on the Primary Arms line of optics.  Any feedback anyone can give me is greatly appreciated!

Sounds like you are on track.  Get what you want.  Probably splitting hairs on the upper.  DD is as good or better.  Primary arms is fine also.  Middy is probably a good way to go for your first AR.  They only had rifle length available when I got my first AR.

All 3 of those uppers listed are very comparable to each other.  I only own a BCM middy from the 3 that you have listed so of course I am going to lean that way.  But anyway, a middy from one of those 3 companies is a great way to go.

Welcome to the site.

DD LW Middy sounds like a great upper to go with all that.  Out of the three mentioned, go with whatever is in stock.  In my eyes they are all comparable, but with a nod going to DD as they do happen to make their own barrels.  Very few AR companies roll their own barrels.

It sounds like you did your homework.  You will have to post pics when you get everything together.
