Did my search and didn't see anything, so here it goes. Post pics and descriptions of target and competition AR's. NRA Highpower, CMP, Service Rifle, Match guns, Space Guns, Military Competition Rifles, etc, etc. I just bought a RRA NM A4 upper off a friend. I am interested in using this for NRA High Power, CMP, competition. I am just getting started in this as my background is smallbore. I need to get a decent trigger in the gun as the upper is just sitting on a bone-stock Stag A2 lower right now. The rifle in back is one of my smallbore guns, a Remington Rangemaster 37. A pretty rare rifle. It makes the RRA NM in front of it feel light. Anyways, I'm off to the range tomorrow to sight this thing in and try out a few different factory loads. Looking forward to printing some small groups with it. I'll probably bring my carbine along too, but this rifle is purely a sport gun. Post your pics!  |
No one? Anyways, here is a bump. This is the best results from my first day out with the service rifle upper half. Keep in mind that I'm still using a bone stock LPK trigger. I was also stuck shooting off of a bipod, which I am not familiar with. (I like slings  )I'm at 100 yards here as the 200 yard range is closed due to a bullshit lawsuit. 1st up is 10 shots of Fiocchi Match King using 69gr sierra bullets. (no 3 or 5 rd groups for me. measuring 5 rd groups is like measuring your willy by starting at your exhaust pipe.)   Next up is using Hornady TAP FPD 75gr (yes I'm stringing, my breathing is labored as I have a nasty cold)  Overall, pretty impressed. I think the Fiocchi load with the Sierras need to be evaluated more. I also shot some Prvi Partisan 69gr match and had much wider groups. Obviously, handloading is going to be the key to the most accuracy, but I'm just getting started in this segment of the shooting sports world, so I have a lot to learn and acquire if I take to it. Hopefully I can learn from some of you folks if the target and sport shooters would see this thread. |

This is my everything AR. I shot action style matches last year with a rifle that I built for that purpose with a scope/red dot setup and a Titan brake and a big magwell and all. I figured this year I'd shoot matches with this rifle and see how I did. So far I'm not feeling any slower with a single optic and without the brake, and my scores so far this year aren't reflecting a difference either.

Yeah, it's basically a USPSA style outlaw match. The range where we shoot has their USPSA match and then the next weekend we shoot basically the same match, but with a few changes such as no steel up close with our ARs. The rules we use are 90% USPSA multigun rifle rules with scoring and the divisions being slightly different. |
| If you are gonna shoot HP, you migjht as well get the RRA 2 stage Match trigger as well...as you are aware, the trigger is to be no less than 4 1/2 lb pull...the more you shoot the RRA the better it'll get....as far as a single stage is concerned, good luck on the rapid fire stage....PS, I've got 3 RRA rifles with NM triggers and wouldn't trade for anything else...PSS: is the sight on the upper a 1/2 x 1/2 or 1/4 x1/4? shrps74 |

I am picking one up at the gun store this week. The lower this was originally on obviously had one, and it was sweet. I'm not yet sure if it is 1/2 x 1/2 or 1/4 x 1/4. RRA usually uses the unnumbered dimpled elevation drum on NM but mine has a strange numbered drum that does not follow the normal -A2 spread. The numbers are spaced at irregular intervals. I've seen a few references to this type of elevation drum on the web, but cannot find much concrete. I'm supposed to take some pics of it close-up and send them to RRA to figure out. It is 24 clicks for a complete rotation though if that means anything. I don't know if this is NOS or something. This could have been sitting for years in the store before my buddy bought it. If I brought the targets in to 50yds I could derive adjustment interval by the change in impact on a sighter target, but at 100yds I can't resolve my POA much using only irons. Some fine-tuning needed, I was just happy to be out in the sun shooting some groups for once. |

This one sees both paper and property varmint extermination duties. More so the later. It is fed a steady diet of Black Hills 69gr SBTHP and the same bullet in my hand loads.
The HBAR on top in the 2nd pic has shot quite a few matches over the years in my oldest sons hands. Mostly local matches at the Lake land rifle club.

finally a dcm -cmp rifle. I think that is what the op was talking about, not a three gun comp piece. last week I shot a 436 out of 500 with 19 x's at a dcm match at 200 yards open sights ,off hand ,sitting , and prone, all unsupported and definitely not from a bench

Yet, you see very few reviews of this ammo here. |
