went to the local gun store saw a complete Daniel Defense ar15 with the magpul stock. i don't know enough about technical stats but everything on the AR15 was stamped DD. the barrel is 16in seems to be in a free float setup 1:7 twist in a 5.56 the guy said it was a m4 barrel other then that he didnt have a whole lot of technical specs i can tell you guys. he says its a v1 or v2 also can't be sure on that.
as far as the way it looks this is the best match i can find on the website https://danieldefense.com/rifles/carbine-length/daniel-defense-m4-carbine-v4-ns.html but the price tag is $1200 not $1470 like on the website so im sure its not the exact same model but i dont know enough about the AR to tell you guys. my question is what are your thoughts on the DD ar15? only thing i would do is add sights and a sling and im good to go. besides asking if the barrel was a 5.56 1:7 twist and 16in in length i didnt know what else to look for, or about the quality of the barrel. this doesnt look like a 600+ yard rifle but if i can hit a hog at 200yards with a few hundred dollar scope then it will work for me. but im sure 99% of the time this wont see much more then paper at the range using flip up sights. itching to buy it but don't want to make a mistake at a impulse buy without your guys approval. basically my intentions for this AR15 is range paper punching and some wild boar hunt but im sure this will be once a blue moon at best. so if this looks like a safe purchase what are some of my optics options? i realize this isn't the long range sniper and most people probably will just want a dot sight but can't i do like a decent 3x9 scope or something a little higher mag 4x16? im not looking to get a leupold or acog that cost more then the rifle (leaving me no $$$ for bullets) but do want something that will compliment what i have. |

so what your saying is this isnt no lemon and will bring many years of joy? will it get me the chicks? Unlike some companies, I have never heard of DD selling blems and such, so if you were to get a rare DD Lemon I know they will happily "UnLemon" it for you. Buy a DD with confidence (from a reputable seller) and enjoy, The only thing you will need to worry about is buying all the ammo because you will want to shoot it so often..LOL. |

No way...Chicks like short ones better. Easier to maneuver. Quoted:

i want to thank everyone who helped me on my first ar15 purchase. originally yes i was going to piece it together but the instant gratification i got from visiting the gun store was to much to pass up. from what i learned here i wanted a 5.56 with a 1:7 twist barrel and to be 16+ inches. as far as the way it looked i want a a tactical rail that i can mount just about anything to and honestly i just like the way it looks.
after my lunch hr visit to the local gun store i came across this Daniel Defense lightweight M4 carbine chambered in 5.56 16" 1:7 twist Chrome lined barrel, vertical foregrip, magpul 5-position collapsible stock and omega x 9.0 rail. priced at $1199 well this was the look and specs i wanted at a fair price so why not jump all over it and get that instant gratification right. so now ill spend some time in the equipment exchange forum for optics/accessories. ill have more patients with my next ar build which might be aimed toward long range shooting. ok so i just got home opened the case for a quick picture. still in the bag very oily, dont know why my receipt is in the pic o well. God bless Georgia gun laws. walked in with my driver license and CCW walked out 15 min later with a AR15 no NICS call require :P life is good. my carry weapon glock 27, don't leave home without it. i did something foolish can you see it? and yes i already fixed it but i left this pic up for giggles. http://img43.imageshack.us/img43/2416/gun037.jpg http://img607.imageshack.us/img607/6/gun039.jpg http://img858.imageshack.us/img858/6176/gun056.jpg http://img200.imageshack.us/img200/7107/gun053.jpg |

Nice Score, CONGRATS!!
Yeah, your not the first one to put the gun on the sights backwards, seen it here a few times. BTW, not that it matters, but I don't think that is a 12.0 FSP rail...looks more like a 9" and no also none FSP. Be sure to let us know how you like it after you burn all that oil off the right way :-) |
