I have an AR with a "B2" marking on the front sight. It is a flat top and I have heard that your front sight needs to be marked "F" for Flat top.
Anyone have any ideas? |
| Might possibly make a difference on a carbine sight picture. Never had a problem sighting one in myself. Think the real problem is a Colt carry handle sight on a non F marked FSB but as stated I never had a problem and I think if it shows up it will only be in the 25-50 yard range. If a problem either a non milspec carry handle sight, most any other iron sight, or a taller front sight post (cheapest) will fix it. On a rifle length sight picture, not a problem. |

That B2 is just a forge mark to denote the forge house. Unless it's LMT, who doesn't mark their FSBs with the F but are still F height, then it's prolly not F height. F marked FSBs are only beneficial on flat top carbines. Do you have a carbine? Either way, just see if you can get a good zero. If it zeros then you have nothing to worry about. If it doesn't then you may need a taller FSP. |
