I'm looking into purchasing a new handguard for my 6.8.  The trouble I'm having is, I can't decide amongst the plethora of brands.  On one hand there is a Larue quad-rail for $300... or a Midwest Industries quad rail for $150.  While I in no way doubt the quality of a Larue product, I just want to know where the additional $150 value is incurred over the Midwest Industries. I'm tempted to get the Larue just because so many people love them, but I can't get over the price.

What length?  You can find carbine length KAC or Troy for around $100 on the EE or eBay.  I just bought a Troy carbine length (new) for $115 shipped.  It is not as light as Daniel Defense or Larue, but definitely lighter than the cheapo rails out there and much better quality.

I just bought a Troy TRX Battlerail and love it. Check it out. It comes in both black or fde, and includes the barrel nut wrench.
