Today, I ordered a BCM CAR Upper with BCG package. I've always owned Colt because they have never failed me.
I had to sell all of my black rifles 3 months ago and it has been driving me completely insane and I don't want to live without one! Can't live without one! I know BCM makes an awesome product, but is it up there with Colt? At the Dept. I'm at, we carry m16 A2's from DRMO and those 20in. barreled rifles are way to long for my needs. Needless to say, I'll be using it for work. Are they life saving trustworthy? I'm turning to the best to get the best knowledge.

I own zero Colt rifles. I do own an LMT Lower/BCM A4 Upper rifle that is fantastic. I have now put just under 1000 rounds without a hiccup through it, and am very happy. All ammo has been surplus LC M193 and M855 all ammo, with a few dozen rounds of Black Hills 77 gr. SMK's. I keep the bolt lubed, run Lancer and USGI mags, and have had nary a problem. I think you'll be happy. CVN

Switching out uppers, yes and no. If a rifle is specifically assigned to you, yes. If not, no you can't unless if you agree to keep it on the rifle. Basically, if you donate it to the cage and not too many of our Officers want to do that.

I dont care what name it has on it. Test the weapon before useing for protection BCM has a good following here. Paul is a good guy This. While BCM makes an outstanding gun, they are mechanical pieces of equipment that can and will fail. Thats the reality. Test the weapon until you feel it's rock solid regardless of the brand, QC slip-ups do happen, don't pay with your bacon J |

I wish BCM wouldn;t put their logo on everything, but I can't complain about the quality one iota. |

Oh I'll definitely be taking it out and testing the heck out of it before I put it into service. Yes, it's a mechanical device and nothing's fail safe. We can only get as close as we can get. Things are just getting crazy anymore, so you have to get the best of the tools for the job. Had a wake up call this past week. We had to lay a deputy to rest last Friday, but that's not a story for this discussion. It was a serious eye opener.
REST WITH HONOR SUZANNE HOPPER |
