I have Bravo Company Gunfighter Mod 4s on most of my ARs.   My two LMT Piston rifles came with a new LMT charging handle with a tactical latch.   These are forged aluminum and seem really strong.  The latch has good surface area on it and is similar to the BCM Mod 4 in size.

Do you think it is worth replacing these with BCM charging handles or do you think the LMT forged ones are good to go?

Here is the picture of the LMT Tactical latch.

The strength of the charging handle isn't at issue.  It's the design of the latch that sets the BCM apart.  The BCM reduces the stress placed on the roll pin during a support hand charge, reducing the chance of a failure.

The LMT charging handle will be just fine.  It's off-brand charging handles I'd worry about, and only under very trying circumstances.

Just use it and see.

If it breaks then pick up a BCM Gunfighter and you'll be GTG.  I prefer the Gunfighters but if I buy a rifle that comes with a CH I just use it until it breaks.

BTW I haven't ever broken a CH yet.

What happened between LMT and ARFCOM? Why can't we post pics of their stuff?

It wasn't from LMT.  It was from (next to H) & (next to T) Tactical.

Now I'm really interested in the reason for the BAN!

Short version illegal sales practices.

I like both, overall I think the BCM is a better charging handle, but LMT nailed the length on the latch on their's. Both are GTG.

To me, it looks similar to a PRI big latch. I'm happy with my PRI's so far, just adding them to my Colt CH's.

I would just use the LMT and see how you like it. I doubt it will fail, so it's personal preference if you replace or not down the road.

It depends on what you do, what your discretionary funds are, and your overall goal for the 2 piston carbines.  The BCM GUNFIGHTER is better by design, but that doesn't make the other ones garbage by any stretch.  Check out the link if you haven't seen it for more information.
