[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Rail question

Hey guys I'm new to ARs and have a quick question. I have a DPMS Commercial and the hand guards measure about 6 1/2 to 6 3/4 inches. I want to replace them with a quad rail, what length do I need to buy? Most of what I've seen are 7". Is this a vague number or what?

I am not familiar with that model. Do you have any links to it? Any photos?

Sounds like a Carbine gas system so the 7" rail would be the one you want. Unless you want to alter or change the FSB in that case you could go longer.

It looks like a carbine system. Are you looking to free-float it or do you just want a drop-in quad rail. What is your price limit for this?
