New sights. I can't see any benefit to these over standard co witnessed buis. Unless you like big, bulky, ugly sights on your rifle.

This.  And probably a higher variable power at that.

looks kind of tarded for the price when you can spend about $50 more and have a micro dot with a 45* offset rail instead of just irons.  thats a lot of money for some irons.

Looks okay but I prefer the JP short range tactical sight. Works well in conjunction with an ACOG for three gun and the like. -Ben

Some people who compete want to stay in certain classes so a red dot is not an option for them.  I even sold mine off my TA31TRD because I do not compete in open class, which allows more than one optic on a rifle. -Ben

I WANT THESE

An offset red dot sight is spendy, and unless you run a T-1/H-1, mini red dots are not known for durability.

Using an offset 1 o clock mount, and then iron sights... you can only mount them on your rail system, so you don't get the same sight radius as you would with these

Except that would throw you into Open Division against people running high dollar double stack 1911/2011's with optics and $3500 race Saiga 12 conversions.  Not to mention many believe for up close "hoser" type stages that irons are faster than a red dot.

Thats retarded, first of all in order to mount for a right handed user (most common type) the rear sight will be facing backwards ie windage knob on the left. I know it's just a cosmetic concern but still. Secondly mounted at a 45 deg angle each windage or elevation adjustment will adjust both windage and elevation by an equal ammount. Also if they use standard mil spec parts even though the clicks should be .5 MOA the angle would result in an adjustment of .3535 MOA. Will they work? Yes. Are they ideal? Well...

They are mounted at a 45 degree offset, designed to be used by rotating your rifle 45 degrees (negating the offset) therefor the windage or elevation will work just as it should..

you said it we didn't It does seem a bit weird and they look a little heavier than they need to be especially if they are aimed at the 3 gun community and not for people in the sand box. But it is something fairly new and inventive. I hope they do well.

I understand what they're for, but why do they have an A2 elevation wheel? Just seems like needless complexity.

I think the "competition" set up has good tactical application as well. That's my experience though. That set is a bit pricey though. I had a three rails installed (1, 6, and 11 O' clock) on my fore end and magpul sights with tritium inserts installed for far less. A couple of pics:

It's a great option if your optic fails and you don't have time to toss it. Works for me and my team anyway.

I agree.

After watching that LMT video I may buy at least the rear sight to use with a front I already have. I have only ever used canted sight starting past the front of the upper receiver and how far the rear sight is set back really appeals to me. Looks like a great setup. -Ben

Also nice for when you enter a building from out in the cold, and the glass fogs.

Webman,

I couldn't agree more. It's not in the photo but I have the same sight set up on the 11 O'clock rail since I shoot lefty and righty.
