Can anyone explain to me why these are just so much more expensive than every single other AR?

They come with tons of upgrades already installed on top of being piston driven. They are not your standard $900 M4 style AR.

This.

If you do the research, LWRC becomes very attractive, especially/even at their price, for what they offer.

A sample offering (which I could NOT refuse):  FDE Cerakoated rails, upper and lower with matching Troy front and rear BUISs, LWRCI rail Skins, Magpul CTR stock, Magpul MIAD grip, midlength gas piston system, 14.7" spiral fluted codl hammer forged Nicorr treated (Ferritic Nitrocarburized) 1:7 twist barrel with PA AAC Blackout 51T suppressor mount flash hider, Geissele SSA two stage trigger, Bravo Company Gunfighter Mod 4 charging handle, Advanced Combat Bolt with Fail Zero coating.

The only thing it didn't come with was an optic.

If you want to find out what people who actually own LWRCs think about them, check out the LWRC forum.

As far as gas piston rifles go, they aren't that much more. POF run around that.

This. And considering they're supposed to be one of if not the best piston out there the price is fitting. I'm not a piston guy at all but if I were or if I were shooting suppressed LWRC would be one of my first choices.
