Can someone tell me which of the below is the better bet or comprised of better components and what the value would be on each of them? I had been thinking about a pistol build and these would move that right along. That or I might apply for a tax stamp down the road and eventually build an SBR. Someone is offering them to me in trade (my choice from the 2 below) and I am wondering if I wouldn't be better served by a more generic setup (DelTon) or if the stuff below is super nice and worth paying extra for:
AR15 A-3 Flattop upper, 11.5" Barrel (Chrome lined), Daniel Defense Rail forend, Adams Arms Piston system, PRI Charging Handle, Complete Bolt Carrier Group GG&G A-3 Flattop upper, 11.5 Flutted Barrel (Chrome lined), KAC RAS forend, PRI Charging Handle, Complete Bolt Carrier Group Any pricing help you guys can give would be great as well as an opinion on which of the 2 uppers is better and what their approx. value is in used but excellent condition. The seller has put the approx. value of each at $550, but I have zero idea if that is reasonable or not. Thanks! |

IMO the value is in the barrels and BCG.
Read the M4 comparison spreadsheet available with a google search. If these are equal then a piston system is usually worth more. DD rail nice too. As for me I'm going to score the 14.5" DD barreled upper in the Cheap Parts section. Smartgunner ? 11.5 vs 14.5 is not worth the paperwork for a SBR IMO. PS; DD has a 10.3 and 11.5 set ups |

without knowing the maker of the barrels and BCG, there is no way to judge if those prices are accurate.
to put it in perspective, i recently sold the following on the EE Colt SOCOM M4A1 barrel w/ pinned Phantom, CMT M4 upper, Larue Tactical 7.0 Rail, XTM panels, (NO BCG or CH) - $525 Colt SOCOM M4A1 barrel w/ A2 FH, Colt M4 upper, Colt HGs, Colt BCG, Colt CH w/ badger tac latch - $500 |

I sold a 6921 bbl w/ Phantom FH, CMT(from BCM) upper, CMT BCG, and my stippled AFG and MOE HGs, with a standard CH, for $475 And it sold in about 12 hours, I should have asked more for it. |

Here are the details:
GG&G Upper: GGG Fluted 11.5 Upper, Complete with Surefire Brake, Titanium Nitride Bolt Carrier Group, PRI charging handle, Knights Armament Forend, GGG folding front sight, Youngs Manufacturing Upper, Factory GGG Barrel. Upper #2: Rock River Arms Upper, Factory RRA Barrel 11.5, PWS CQB Comp/Cone, Daniel Defense Forend, Adams Arms Piston System, TiN Bolt Carrier Group, PRI Charging Handle Let me know if that helps with a more exact pricing and whether I would be foolish to pass either up at a straight across $550 trade... Thanks! |
