Recently finished my first build. It was about as hard as I expected but I only built the lower. After all this I can say I learned a lot I'm really glad I did it and from now on I'm sure I'm going to be building my rifles. I can't do uppers until I get a better workshop but I look forward to learning that too!

Here are some specs

Spikes Midlength LE upper from AIM (1/7 gvmt bbl, 4150, auto bcg etc. all the spikes goodies)
-GG&G BUIS
-DD Omega
-Aimpoint C3 2moa

Lower
-Spikes Stripped lower
-Spikes LPK (few comments about that)
-Mapul FDE furniture
- Spikes T2 buffe

Build went somewhat smooth, I launched the front detent about twice and the rear maybe 5 times. There were some good things about the spikes LPK. First was the trigger it feels great compared to other single stages I've shot. The pins for the hammer and trigger were not the normal cut you would expect. Instead of them both having 2 notches one had the cut on the center and the other a cut on the end. I think it makes a difference then because the hammer had a pin/clip going through the middle. Not a big deal but, just made things more complicated for a first timer.

Very happy with the end product cant wait to take it out and shoot it!

Imageshack is sucking it up on uploading images upside down and then not being able to save the rotation.

nice build...

i cheat and use the front sight tool... i also clip the rear spring a little.

Is that the enhanced kit you have or regular?  I've got an enhanced in my newest lower... waiting on too much custom crap to get it running right now :(

thanks all, and I cant wait for the range report either

Question, would you go with a magpul AFG or a Tangodown stubby?

Looks very nice. I happen to really like the look of FDE, and you did a good job with that rifle. As you seem to have found out, building lowers can be fun while simultaneously pissing you the hell off. Might look into getting a few extra detents to have in your toolbox. I've launched a few and gotten lucky by finding them
