Didn't feel like buying the tool to do it so I had some free time at work:-)

used 400 grit silicon carbide lapping grease....think that should do the job? |

You should relieve some of the diameter just infront of the step.
Otherwise your abrasive will work its way into the inside of the upper where the barrel extension slides in and you will do more damage than good. Look at the brownells version to see what I'm referring to. |

Look at the brownells version to see what I'm referring to. I did actually...can't see it cause it's filled with compound. Not as much as the brownells but enough for it to do the job.
