I THINK the upper on this rifle is a Bushmaster, but I am not sure. Can anyone ident the upper from the following photos? Thanks!

If the middle pic is right behind the fsb, its not a bushy.....or at least not a recent one.  Handguards are wrong also (but they could have been changed.  What profile is the barrel under the hg?

I think that's an Oly barrel ... 4140 chromemoly ... think they did the 556 only and then they put SS after it on the stainless ones.

From Oly's web site:

If the only barrel stamping is "5.56", then the barrel is made of 4140 chromemoly steel.

The forge mark is probably Alcoa Forge, but that doesnt tell you what company distributed it.

Not sure on the barrel. If it is an Oly Barrel, the ones i shot were very accurate. I hear that is one of the things Oly produces well.

One of the guys I work with has an OLY. I will ask him to look at his rifle.

Update: Just looked at my friends OLY. The stamping on the barrel is at the same location but uses different fonts on the numbers. Different forge mark on the upper receiver.

I dont think Oly ever offered a CL barrel.

that FSB looks cast...one more thing that make me think it's an Oly barrel

Even though its not chromelined you could always get a .22 conversion and use the upper for cheap practice and then get a brand new chromelined upper for buisness.Spikes has top notch uppers and BCM all in the $525 to $575 range.

The barrel is an Olympic Arms offering. Non-chromed, 1/9, cast FSB.

I took a picture with the hand guards off, even though we have pretty much identified this one has an oly.

Erik, for what it's worth I own the same Olympic upper and it's an excellent shooter

Even though Olympic's specs indicate the barrel is a 1:9 mine is actually closer to 1:8.5, and it's extremely accurate with 75gr Hornady TAP.

Here's mine, configured as a trunk gun:

It's not that I hate Olympic, I just have zero trust for their product. I would rather have a quality upper, or complete rifle than to always be second quessing if the oly will function or not when I need it too.
