thanks Some of those calibers would be awesome. Good luck actually finding the majority of them Honestly that list has so much noise in it that it is almost worthless. Rifle calibers that I know are being produced right now, that you can get an assembled upper that will go on any standard AR-15 lower (I know this isn't exhaustive) include: 5.45x39 5.56x45 6.5 Grendel 6.8 SPC 7.62x39 There are of course a number of custom AR-pattern rifles that have been built and are being built but many do not use AR-15 lowers. For example there are several in production chambered for .308 from DPMS, LMT, KA etc but they are not standard lowers. There are also pistol caliber AR's like 9mm, 40S&W, .357sig but again they are not standard lowers. |

The most common for the AR15 platform is
9mm 6.8SPC 6.5G Out of the 3 most popular, I think the 6.8SPC is leading the pack in popularity because of the supply available out there. If you want to go 9mm, it's mainly RRA. 6.5G is a bit more expensive because of the rights paid to Alexander Arms so less manufacturers are making parts for the 6.5G. |
