My friend just got an ar15, It has a sun devil lower, Standard collapsible butt stock and tube, I believe the guy he bought it from put it together himself, and when you hit the back of the buttstock (more effective at the top) the bolt carrier will drop if it is locked back. Is this normal or should he be concerned?

I have never noticed this. So, I just opened the safe and tried it on two of my rigs. To my surprise, with a good hard strike to the rear of 2 stocks, the BCG when in to battery. Ummm . . . I guess that is normal?

Ya thats normal. Also it wont just happen from a bump to the stock. At work sometimes just the light bump of putting the muzzle into the clearing barrel will send the bolt forward.

Want to piss off a USMC drill instructor?    Slam your buttstock on the deck while the bolt's locked to the rear.

Oh come on bro, ANYTHING will piss off a DI ;)

What about when they'd come through and pull all the triggers and see who didn't pull theirs during inspection arms?

Normal, it's also a good way to clear a stuck case.
