Is a chrome lined barrel and chamber more reliable than a stainless steel barrel and chamber ???

NO. Chrome lines bore is great for corrosion resistance. However neither is more reliable then the other.

Same RELIABILITY WISE. I have seen unreliable in both! Chrome lined is easier to clean and usually lasts a little longer but normally less accurate. .02 M4QUADRAIL

Don't really understand the question. A stainless barrel will wear out faster than a chrome one. I know that stainless target barrels are replaced after 1000rnds or so.

I doubt it.  Compared to a regular chrome moly, yes, but not stainless.

The Chrome moly steel adheres to carbon more and fouls up quicker which can lead to reliability issues, this is a major reason why the mil went with CL barrels.  stainless steel will resist fouling pretty well.

what?  you mean 10,000 rounds?  Someone here had about 60k through his noveske ss before it started keyholing.  1k is way to low to replace a barrel unless is REALLY soft, like gold or something

I am interested in the stainless steel rifle upper linked below. I was wondering if it would be as reliable as a chrome lined barrel and chamber. I know chrome lined is more reliable because dirt/carbon does not cling to it like carbon steel chambers. I was wondering if stainless is similar to chrome. Sorry if my question was not clear. oh...What do you think of this upper ??? I would scope it. What kind of accuracy could I get with good ammo ? Thanks.....

I'm talking about match barrels. 1000rnds was a little low probably 2000-3000rnds.
