Good morning....

I have a couple of quick questions about "upgrading" my AR.

To start, I have an RRA Entry Tactical pretty much stock.  I have noticed that the trigger pins are walking out, and I can move them with my fingers. What are some suggestions about fixing this?
Also, are there any bolt carrier group upgrades that I can utilize as well?

Thanks,

Fury

First are you sure the lower is asembled correctly?  The pins should be held captive by the legs of the springs.  A BRavo Company bolt and carrier is always a step up.  Get one and keep for a spare, or install and keep your old one for a spare.  You should then be OK.  RRA is good stuff.

I have not had any problems with the rifle at all, I just don't like the idea of the pins moving.  I saw an anti walking pin kit at brownells and was wondering if this is a good option?

Also, is there any advantages to the stainless, or titanium bolt carrier groups?

Have the pins actually walked out during firing or is your complaint simply that they are moving with finger pressure? Standard trigger/hammer pins will move & spin. This is normal.

I bet your pins are Fine
They do turn when you dry fire, etc!
Your  carrier & bolt is fine as is . Unless you are haveing trouble?
Ive used blue insert on my extractors without any problems.

I find that most add ons arent needed
Im anti KNS .

Other than a rail for a light and maybe a Optic?
Depending what the AR is used for!

Best thing I ever bought was a Armorers manual
It has everything you need to know

Make sure your springs are installed correctly. The hammer has a "J" spring that rides in the center groove of the hammer pin. The trigger pin is retained by the legs of the hammer spring.
If you want to spend money, go with the KNS pins.

Look over the extractor. Upgrade to a black colored buffer and 5 coil spring if needed.
Look over your gas key, make sure it is staked firmly inplace without movement.

Shoot the rifle a bunch and see if you need to do anything first. Read the Troubleshooting section here and see what everyone else has going on.

No...they have never walked out, but I can move them with finger pressure.  I have never tried, but I bet that I can remove them with finger pressure alone.

I have an Eotech 553(tan) on it right now, and for my rail I run the Surefire M73 quad.  No light yet, but I want the Surefire Scout light.

Other than the pin walk, no trouble.  I have had the rifle now for several years (2005ish).  I just want to take care of this issue before it becomes a problem.

Sound like good advice.

When I get home from work, I'll look it over.

Thanks.

I won't make an argument one way or another whether you should or should not have a set of anti-rotation/anti-walk pins. That said, I've got a couple of sets of KNS pins and they are fine and do what they claim. Personally I've never cared for the KNS look. I've recently installed several sets of the JP product you listed. I quite like them. I've seen others say that the Allen screw walks out. I however, have had no problem with this. The price is pretty easy to swallow.
