For those of you following along at home, I had majpr shoulder surgery a year ago and I can no longer shoot high caliber rifles or shotguns.  So I decided to sell them and use the proceeds to build a MK12 mod1.  I currently have an 18" WOA SPR barrel with rifle length gas and matching bolt.  A Larue 13.2 rail with KAC rail covers.  A key hole upper with Y/M bolt carrier.  For the lower I have an A2 stock, WOA LPK with SSA-E trigger.  Next on my list is a lower.  I know a lower is a lower, as long as it is in spec, and I would love a Colt lower, but I am not forking over that kind of cash.  I only have the funds available that I got from selling my other firearms.  So I would like the hive mind's opinion on which of the following three lowers for my MK12.
DSA Blem $60 - the cheap alt
RRA for $99 - I have a RRA for my fighting carbine and a "matched set" would be nice
Noveske for $150 - what I really want, but will have to sacrifice the BUIS until much later to do it.

thanks

Never known this group to not have an opinion.

Bump for the day crew.

I say go with the Noveske. I know it might set you back but even  if it takes another couple of months, when its done it will make you a happy man.

+1 to that. The Noveske still isn't a huge difference and down the road you'll be glad you paid the difference. Not that it's really much better, but much cooler :)

Get the Noveske. It is clear that is the one you most want.

I have two Noveske lowers and they have performed well for me. one is a SBR with a LMT 10.5" upper the other is a SPR 18" WOA barrel CMT upper and bolt carrier assy, only about 450 rounds through the 18" gun the 10.5" has about 800 through it the lowers look like new and the parts kits Stag and RRA fit fine. with that said they are no better that the bushmaster or Stag lowers I have all have served me well. My first AR bought new in 1982 Colt SP1 has been the best as far as finish ware it has thousands of rounds through it YMMV.
I have heard that Noveske changed the maker of his lowers this may be true I don;t know my lowers are well under SN# 000100 so if true my experience may not help you.

But the Iron cross is cool

That's my problem.  I am paying extra money for a cross on the side.  I know it won't make a bit of difference in how it operates.  It just looks so much better the the DSA logo.

Apparently I am that petty

Like you said, a lower is a lower, as long as the holes are in the right places.  Of the ones that you listed, I'd go with the Noveske and call the cross a $50 option.  I wouldn't waste my time with the "matched" RRA set.  I've bought two of them.  When the first came in, the fit between the two was so sloppy that I felt that I wasted my money and time by going through the trouble to get the matched set.  On the second one, I figured that the first was a fluke and hoped for better luck.  No suck luck.  Since the guy ordered them for me "special", I paid him for the parts, but never left the store with them.  Had him sell them on consignment for me, at a loss.

Given a choice, I'd go with a Spike's.  Really clean machine work, good finish, and lots of roll mark options with color fill.  I think they look cool.  On the last one (Spike's lower) that I got, the trigger and hammer pins on my SSA-E were a nice tight fit too.

Hey I bought the Noveske for the name and logo just saying it is good to go, no better no worse. I have a Spikes lower also but it's on a 22lr gun and the upper is crap reason it's a 22lr.
the spikes is also great nice even rollmark good finish very low round count so we will see how it works out but I am sure it's just as good and a option I would look at.

What is better about the Noveske? Seriously, aside from the name? I'd just get a medium grade lower and a sling for the same price. Heck the ARFcom lowers are 125. I have a principle that I'll never pay (Under normal conditions) over 100$ for a lower after shipping/tax/transfer. There's just no performance gain.

There is always this lower from Dan's Ammo about two-thirds of the way down the page.  Shipping was ten dollars.

While think Noveske lowers are cool too, I just thinking spending $50 for the cross is foolish. However, if that's what you really want then go for it.

How about a Spikes for $99?

I would also suggest the Sabre Defence lower, I have ordered two and the fit and finish is superb.  I called Tango Down because the battlegrip I ordered did not fit either of my Noveske lowers, the guy told me they are made to the TDP and my lowers were improper.  The TD grip fit the Sabre lowers very well.

"Noveske" then we can have a NOVESKE MK12 MOD _  thread to ourselves! I am presently building 2 MK12s like yours and bought the Noveske matched lower and uppers that were available last month at AIM. Get the Noveske it will help keep its value should you need to sell it in the future! M4QUADRAIL

Since you indicated that you wanted to build a "Mk12 Mod1", I'd say go with the DSA (LMT makes their lowers, so the quality is good) and use the money saved to buy yourself the proper rail system, KAC M4 Match RAS (P/N:99266).

I'd say go Noveske.  Get what you want, and wait for the BUIS.  Likely, the zombie-pocalypse won't come before you get them.

Go with the DSA they make good parts, I built a co-worker a DSA rifle and its a great rifle. It also wont flatten the wallet. You can get a blem lower complete for 180.00. The only reason Id shell out extra dough is for personal preferance. I have a DSA upper on a CMMG lower a KISS rifle and it shots just as good as the one that I have 1500 in JMHO.
