Can anyone tell me if it would be worth it to install a free float HG on my Colt MT6700 C. Will it increase accuracy a lot or just the bare minimum.
Thanks for any help. |

No cutting the Delta ring needed––––you will have to remove the FSB and flash hider––––the barrel will have to come off no matter what––remove the Delta pack and barrel nut––––then install your free floater.
Easier way is just get the 2 piece rails and snap em on. |
| How much free floating will increase your accuracy will depend on the way you shoot. If you just shoot off hand or from a rest, it might not make too much of a difference. If you use a sling to shoot where you put a good bit of torque on the barrel when you snug up, it could make a noticeable difference in accuracy or consistency. I don't like rails, so I just went with a free float tube. With most setups, you will need to strip the barrel and remove the stock barrel nut, but there are a couple of exceptions. The Daniel Defense Omega (I believe) makes use of the stock nut and delta ring. The midwest industries makes use of the stock barrel nut, but you'll have to cut the delta ring off if you don't want to either strip the barrel or pull it from the upper. |

Thanks for the input. I ususally shoot off hand but I have been shooting CMP matches latetly and I really don't know how much torque I put on the sling but it doesn't seem to affect accuracy. I think playing around with loads will get me nore accuracy that a FFHG. I don't know. |

Be warned that if you do want a FF rail, you'll either have to cut off the delta ring, or be able to basically completely strip down your barrel to install it. Not true, there are some that require zero modification to the rifle, such as the DD Omega. Yep. If you want to cut the collar and use the the factory barrel nut (Without removal) you can go with MI. |
