I dont understand what you mean.  You yourself said they were chinese airsoft toys.  I dont see how they have any worth at all since they are not for real guns.

I guess if you played with airsoft guns and needed sights they could be worth something

if you don't spend over 150 dollars on a buis its obviously crap and your rifle will EXPLODE.

j/k. I don't know about that one, but I've seen some people with the same style of sight from utg that didn't hate them...i don't like the company personally, but if it works it works

I bought one to see if I wanted a LMT type sight.

It did fine when you seated the apt all the way down.  It had a little twist to the apt, but did not effect zero.  The clicks were not very smooth and I I did not count on them be precise.

I think I paid around $28-30 shipped for mine and I used it for about 9mos.  in that time it held up fine.  Would I want to trust my life to it?  No.  Was it a good option to see if I wanted a non flip up rear sight?  Sure.

Magpul sights can be had for under $50 so why not pony up $10-15 more for something actually designed for real guns.

I guess I just dont want toy parts on my rifle....

i know, i was being sarcastic...it just seems every post of this nature (someone wants advice on a budget buis)  there's a chorus of posters saying, to effect: "if you don't buy a troy (or whatever flavor of the month there is) your friends will hate you, your mother will weep and your father won't be able to look you in the eye anymore"

I for one like the matech veteran i snagged for 35 bucks or the yankee hill set I've got on my other carbine...although I'd probably get an mbus now if I had to do it over again now that they're out.   I'm sure the troy sight is fantastic, but for the price i could buy 1 or 2 comm bloc surplus guns and other, less expensive buis do the same thing just as well.

I'm not saying troy and utg are on the same level...not by a longshot, but i am hoping to head off the flood of people who say thats the ONLY option when someone wants advice about a low cost sight.

I have experience as I used to dig airsoft. Some of it is pretty good quality, though I wouldn't put it on my guns.

You pretty much always get what you pay for.

I dont think price really has anything to do with it.  If you can find a quality sight for cheap, more power to you, and the thing is; you can.  There are quality sights for cheap on the EE all the time.  People shouldnt feel like their only option is to buy a toy sight from ebay if their budget only allows for that.

Many times though, it takes someone buying a cheap chinese part once (sights, rails, lights, etc.) so it can break on them and then they realize they should have just bought the quality part first, without wasting the initial money on the shitty part.

ETA: OP: If you are indeed looking for a rear sight, a quick scan of the EE showed about 7 different option on the first page.  An MBUS for $50, a Larue for $75, a Troy for $65 among some of those.
