| How does cmmg stack up compared to a spikes tactical or bravo company USA for a 16 inch midlength upper in terms of quality |
|
Quoted:
ok Ct rockriver arms upper or bcm?? BCM. The commitment to quality from them is unreal. They have very high standards for thier parts and assembly. Many other companies will spal together whatever parts happen to come through and get it out the door. BCM has actually held up production when they couldn''t get parts to meet there spec. When you purchase a BCM middy you can expect it to be in spec. Proper barrel steel. HPT/MPI. 1:7 twist to stabilize larger rounds. F marked front sight base. If you end up getting there BCG it is made from correct Carpenter 158 Steel, shotpeened and HPT/MPI. Uses tool steel extractor, proper insert and spring. |

would you happen to know if this brings the handguards

My 14.5" CMMG Middy has been great. No complaints. But I bought it when BCM middy was not available for a few years, and the 14.5" was not even offered.
That said, there's no reason not to go BCM and have no regrets or second guess your choice, whether the chamber is in spec, if your threads are concentric to the bore, etc. Later Summer 2010: Lightweight 14.5" BCM Middy |

| While I've owned CMMG uppers & lowers a few years ago & they worked, I grew increasingly displeased with the quality. I got rid of my CMMG gear in favor of BCM. CMMG is not in the same league as BCM & even Spike's as of late. CMMG is fine for most I'm sure but don't put them in the same class. |

Quoted: My CMMG midlength is pushing three thousand rounds, Wolf, XM193, UMC, WWB whatever, in all kinds of conditions I'm happy. I bought it back when CMMG was the ARFCOM flavor of the month and have no regrets. I would probably be happy with a BCM too. Same here. I got my CMMG 14.7" when the koolaid was being passed out. Over 2000 rounds and zero problems. I just recently replaced the BCG with a BCM. It is a excellent rifle in every way. Many members here own "bargin bin" rifles from CMMG and love them. As of late there seems to be more and more complaints about quality though. BCM would be hard to beat. There quality control is where it's at right now. I don't think I've heard anyone really complain about anything from them besides not being in stock. Lets hope that success does ruin them too in the future. It's a balancing act when it comes to keeping that level of quality and keeping up with customer demand. Right now I'd spend my money on another Spikes. You get a whole lot for a smoking deal and quality is up there with BCM. |

It works like a champ, and hits where I want it, and looks sexy as hell. No regrets with CMMG. |

I can't speak for or against the Spike's or BCM's, but I have a CMMG mid-length and I love it. I've never had any problems with it functioning.
The only problem I had was, when it first arrived, CMMG had sent me the rifle with a Medium contour barrel and not the government profile I requested. I called up CMMG, sent it back, they put the correct barrel on and sent it back to me with an upgrade. While they were installing the new barrel they also put on a set of anti-rotation pins, free of charge. Their customer service is awesome! You can’t go wrong with any quality company, but in my opinion CMMG is at the top (along with others) for quality products and customer service. |
