How would you modify a KAC RAS M4 to fit a heavy barreled AR carbine? |

I've mounted a RAS on Colt and Bushmaster heavy barrels with no mods. I have the RRA heavy barrel, not sure how the diameters differ between the brands. You will need to remove a little bit of material to fit the rra Hbar. When I am not on my phone I will post more info. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

Before you get too industrious with the dremmel, realize a RAS alone, weighing in at 11.3 oz., on an Hbar
is going to be hefty. Add a light, VFG or whatever warrants putting on a rail, a red dot on top and you have a handfull. I sent my RRA Hbar to ADCO and had them turn it down to med. weight under the HG and with a RAS it now balances beautifully. |

A little off topic, I have the M5 RAS, it fits on my HBAR, however, the locking screw seems to be too long. Its brass colored and measures 1.5 cm.
With the rails off, the screw, when screwed all the way in, protrudes into the channel on the locking clamp. I don't want to jack up my gas tube with a long screw. The rails are very tight without the screw, however.......................................... Thanks |
