I have a quick question. I have a noveske carbine and noveske 16in mid length AR and I love them both. I have a ST T2 buffer in my carbine and I think there is a pretty big difference in the felt recoil, sound, and smooth action. I would like to get something similar for my mid length. Is there anything out there? I heard the spikes buffer is not made for mid lengths.

I run that same buffer in my BCM Midlength build.
It runs flawlessly.

I have an H in my mid length build and it runs fine and ejects the spent cartridges in the correct direction.

You can surely run a STT2 in a middy but you may have issues with underpowered ammo. Just test it out. I tested carbine, H, H2 buffers in my Recce and all functioned just fine but the H2 threw the brass incorrectly. I run an H in my middy and H2 in my carbines.

I shot my new 16" middy this last weekend.  I found the same thing with the ST-T2.  It's just a bit too heavy.  I think I'm gonna try an H buffer and she should run perfect.  Don't get me wrong, it ran fine with ST-T2, just looking to fine tune it.

My Adco Cruiser mid runs well with it.  I was shooting Brown Bear out of it just fine.

I'd wager the ammo has more to do with it than the spring/buffer.

I've noticed that my rifles aren't picky at all with buffer/spring combos, but can short stroke on my lighter reloads.

As a rule of thumb, I use PMC ammo as a baseline for power as it is considered to be a lightly loaded quality ammo used frequently in training.

The std. 'H' buffer is a good compromise for a 16" mid-length.

Thanks for the replies guys. I mostly shoot pmc for range use, I hear they are a lighter load. Does anyone here use pmc in a mid length with the ST T2? Any issues?

Also I read that Spikes said the STT2 should work fine in a middy, but it is not needed. Does thise mean you will not get the improvements you would see on a carbine system, but it will work?
