I want to like my FSC556 so bad, but it is just too god damn loud and obnoxious. It has some pretty nasty backblast to go along with the noise as well.
It does reduce recoil and muzzle flip, but I want pit it against a vortex just to see if its worth it to have that extra noise/blast. I'll agree, it does look god damn medieval on the end of a barrel though. |

Then I shoot my 270WSM and I forget about the PWS device. |

Honestly When im shooting my AR, i guess i zone out and dont notice it, but when i let other people shoot it i walk a couple extra feet away. Im amazed by how loud and the concussion it makes, but the same with the A2 flashhider. Its not like its annoying, im just amazed because when your shooting the AR you dont even notice. I would honestly need to see an A@ and the 556 next to eachother to tell teh difference though. BTW My shooting range is 6 lanes wide, heavy trees+ brush all around, and there is a 10ft tall roof above the benches. As 87GN said, once you shoot a louder rifle you forget about it, but in my case its a Polish M44 |
Nice looking blaster!
I use the FSC556 on all of my AR's and would agree that the looks are just as pleasing as the performance. Of course, there are only so many decent choices for a muzzle device on a post ban NY rifle to begin with.

The FSC556 is the best muzzle brake for FA fire I've been able to find.
It absolutely tamed my LWRC M6A2 w/10.5" barrel which was fighting me on mag dumps until the PWS brake was installed. Looks, that's great and all. Function, that's the big deal here...I haven't witnessed it on semi auto fire (can't control myself) but on FA it can't be beat. |

forget performance? Other than the breakout(which may be better or not as good, well see) the pws is the best, all around choice. It hides flash, keeps your muzzle flat and looks BADASS!! Nice build bro.
btw, unless the brakout gets sic reviews, im installing the pws on my gun in the near future. |

Add the FSC30 and much more manageable, albeit with far more noise to the shooter than Armalite's standard FH. |
| Mine had significant errosion from shooting .556 ammo. Eventually, a tiny chunk flew off and hit my arm drawing a small amount of blood. I've switched to an AAC flash hider for an SPR/M4 that I'll pick up at the end of the month. I still have a PWS on my .308 and I haven't had any problems. |

Was this when someone else was shooting it or when you were? Pics? This was when I was shooting. It was on a 16" Noveske N4 shooting XM193. That upper was sold and I have replaced it with another N4 with a switch block. Several times during shooting, I could feel something hitting my left elbow. The last time it happened, it hurt and drew blood. I initially thought there was a problem with the gas block and so I sent the upper to Noveske. They suggested it was the muzzle break. I noticed the errosion when I got it back. This was the model without any flash suppression / just a muzzle break. |

Sounds like you got a defective brake or something - those are made of EDT 150 which is essentially hard 4140. It would take a shit ton of fire through a 16" to do that, I would think

i just picked one up last weekend, can't wait to shoot it this weekend, have ready noothing but good reviews about it apart from the noise,
i shoot at a range that is outdoors and covered, think the wooden ceiling is 12-15 feet high, 7-8 covered lanes....i'll shoot the one AR with the A2 brake on it first and then the other AR with the FSC556 on it, we'll see if I notice anyone looking at me when i shoot the FSC556.... by the way i took a black sharpie to the silver colored large washer that came with the FSC556, looks better black in my opinion.... |

To each his own, As soon as the AWB ended I removed the only MB I had on a 20" AR. I have four ARs now with no brakes. The standard issue muzzle device for the US military on the M-16 platform is not a brake for a good reason. Having said that, if people like these things then good for them. It is still, for the time being, a free country. |
