Does anyone offer a closed top scabbard that sling over the back and hold a AR upper only?  Kind of like those shotgun scabbards but a flap for the opening to keep stuff out.

buy one and put a flap on it...

maybe a flap off a surplus bianchi mil holster.....take it to your local shoe repair guy.....he's got a real sewing machine...

Yep. i have a guy that can do anything with heavy fabric. He makes knife sheaths and gun cases and has one mean ass old singer industrial sewing machine.
