I know this may sound silly but is there more technique to this than putting your thumb through a belt loop and pulling forward on the rifle..?

I was attempting to get this to work it would fire off maybe 2 or 3 rounds in succession but then stop like the safety was on. Id check to make sure there was a round in the chamber but then pull the trigger and the same scenario would occur.  The rifle fires perfectly fine when i pull the trigger as fast as i can, could it possibly be maybe the trigger isnt fully cycling?

Not very safe. Good way to ruin a perfectly good belt loop.

I agree nothing more than a good way to waste ammo.

It's fun the first couple of times, but after that, you realize that it's dangerous (really) and it just burns through your ammo. It caught me completely by surprise the first time I tried it. Every single round went into the ground.

this has been asked so many times but if you look at this - PMMG this may answer your question.

However as stated it is not a very good idea and also a waste of ammo.
