what manufacturer of bolt? What type of ammo? Cleaning regiment?  More info and a photo would help a great deal.

need pics.

Pits on the bolt face aren't necessarily a problem.

A quality bolt should last at least 5,000 rounds on an carbine gas system and at least 10,000 rounds on a rifle length system.

It is an American Spirit Arms ar15 It has been flawless in operation. I ran about 500 rounds of commercial ammo and 500 rounds of my reloads using lc or pmc brass 21.5 grs of h4198 or
22grs of h322 clean after every 100 rounds and run her pretty wet. Never any steel cased ammo Wolf or otherwise.

Get a new BCG from a major manufacturer. You have gas erosion on the breechface. Most likely due to poor quality steel.

Pitting on the bolt face is normal, but not anywhere near 1000 rounds is it so.
