OK, here's my dilema.
I am headed to "Fronsight" in May for a 4 day tactical rifle class and they require either a second weapon or second upper. They haven't yet answered me as to wether a spare BCG would serve as well (it's not like the barrel is gonna fall off my Armalite M4). So, assuming I need to do one or the other, I can't decide weither to get another upper (soooo many choices) get a complete 2nd AR, get a 308 or just pickup a mini -14. I can see the options, but since I luv toys I can find reasons for each. What makes REAL sense??? |

Good excuse to get another AR.
I would recommend grabbing a Spike's Tactical M4 LE model while they are on sale for $475
I am having the same argument with myself. Probably won't buy the Spike's LE because I alread have an Armalite M4 flat top with FFS A second upper is nice, but I personally avoid redundant configurations.
Maybe a flat top, no sights, quad rails FF tube and a heavy barrel for longer range would work. How pracctical (probably NOT the right word to use) is either a 308 or a Mini 14 as an alternative? Never shot either one. |

Something about an unmated upper or lower I just can't stand, sooner or later they become complete rifles! I would tend to agree unless it's a .22 LR upper. I just don't see the need in having a dedicated .22LR rifle when it takes two seconds to swap them out. Of course, YMMV. |

Complete DSA Lower or go with AeroPrecision = under $200!
My current build is an Aero Precision lower with RRA two stage trigger> Anyone have experience with Mini 14s I asked about the new Mini-14's several times and they get no love on this website. The more I researched it the more I realized why...they aren't all that great. Apparently the new models accuracy still suffers a lot after just a few rounds because of the heat. |
