I read in a recent Guns and Ammo that the Marines are looking to upgrade the M4.  The upgrades will include a redesigned barrel, new quad rail, and a Round Counter to see how many rounds each riffle has fired. Have any of you ever seen a round counter on a riffle?  I keep having pictures of a car odometer mounted on the side of the riffle

dont think halo future guns displaying total round count and round count left in magazine.

More like an insert into the grip that counts total shots, and must be removed and connected to a computer to get the data

I saw them talk about this on the History Channel and I can see how it would be useful for a armorer. Technology is changing all the time.
