II was in the process of assembling my lower receiver (Spikes Tactical ST-15) with a lower parts kit and while performing my function test I discovered that the disconnector did not move sufficiently at full trigger pull to engage the back of the hammer.  I see no visual problem with the trigger or the disconnector, but the fact of the matter is that it does not move enough to operate properly.

The trigger itself has an "S" stamped on it, any idea what company makes this trigger?  I'm confused to why this happened, there aren't many visual differences between a known good trigger / disconnector and this one.  I'll try and get pictures up in the morning.

Thanks

Sometimes the different tolerances of the parts just don't work in each others favor. I had a trigger / disco combo that showed no signs of damage or wear and looked like every other part in my other rifles, but when you slowly let off the trigger after the first shot the gun would go auto, reliably, and in a controlled manner from a few rd burst to full mag dumps, each and every time. It was quite a surprise when this happened at the range and turned a few heads in my direction to be sure. Needless to say those bits were disposed of in the circular file cabinet and promptly replaced with parts that function like they are supposed to.

Edited to add: Did you check and make sure the you installed the disconnector spring, and that if it is in there it isn't binding or out of spec somehow, ie too short?

The disconnector spring was installed with the wide part of the cone into the trigger.  The back of the disconnector is not touching the trigger, it almost looks as if the bottom of it is.
