I'm about the pull the trigger on a larue rail but I want to buy the tools needed to do the job first.  Just wanted to check and see if I needed anything else.

1. Heavy duty punch to remove FSB.  Do I really need one of those bench blocks?

2. barrel nut wrench.  I think I will get this looks heavy duty. Wrench

3. Action block.  I was looking at the Spikes Tactical Worx Block.  Is this a good buy or should I get the DPMS one?

4.  Already have a torque wrench.

Anything else I will need or any advise?  Thanks a lot.

1. They help. 2 Midway USA Catalogs is what I use though.
2. I would get the DPMS Armorers wrench or similar. It is built very strong and has more uses than just the barrel nut.
3. Those are nice. I have a similiar one made by DPMS and works great.
4. Good. The DPMS Armorers wrench has a space for this also.

Looks like you have most of it.

I would recomend a set of good punches, a ball peen hammer; small and larger, a small dead blow hammer is nice as well. A good vice, bolt down or clamp on is a must. I would also get/have a 1/2" drive and or a 3/8" rachet or breaker bar (using a torqe wrench to get a nut OFF may not work well). Also a 3/4" wrench for the flash supressor (most all are 3/4" but not every one).

Also get a block of some sort, hard wood or a hockey puck to use as a spacer if you need it. I have a huck of sheet plastic I have pin holes drilled in to push out roll pins.

I would also pick up a combo tool, DMPS offers one. Just nice to have.

You will also need a strap wrench to tighten the threaded nut on the LT rail.
