I have new upper for a build. My problem is that when I hand tightened the flashider on it timed upside down. There is no way that when I take the wrench to it that it is going to time with the standard crush washer. You get a quarter turn at best once it starts to get snug.
Dumb question time...Do I need a peel washer? I have never encountered this before. |

It will work with a crush washer. I've done a dozen or more with no problem. Your best bet is to use barrel blocks rather than an action block so as to not cant the FSB.
It WILL go, you just need to put your ass behind it. Peel washers are actually more of a pain, and I only use crush washers unless someone specifically requests a peel washer. |

I do have a receiver block I will use when the time comes. I have never seen it that far away before. I am all anxious now... ![]() Try not to use the receiver block for flash hider installation. You risk canting your barrel/FSB, or worse, cracking your upper receiver where the barrel alignment pin sits in the receiver. You should only use the receiver/action block for tightening the barrel nut and other no-torsion stress jobs. A set of aluminum barrel blocks for your vise doesn't cost much. |

I got a little confused between the two. Barrel block it is.Thanks! |
