Is there a product or a DIY solution out there to address the non-pushable pivot pins found on some Colts?  I should clarify, a product or solution that does not require smithing.  Thx

I think KNS made some type of pin that had a QD button on it but I may be wrong

Please clarify exactly what you have. A large whole upper and lower? If so, Bushmaster sells a push pin adapter for that purpose. They call it their "Sporter" adapter.

I think he's talking about the pins that use a screw on one side.  The lowers that came with those pins (at least the ones I've seen) don't have a hole for the takedown pin detent/spring so you can't retrofit a standard takedown pin without some work on the lower.

I used the KNS push button pin but it was a major pain in the ass.  I finally just drilled the hole in the fence and now I have a standard captured pivot pin.  It was much easier than I thought it would be.

Check brownells and bushmasters catalogs.  Both used to carry a 5/16" pin with integral detent for AR's with the "big hole' pivot like the SP1

Is this the one you're talking about?
