This is what I'm looking for. 16 or 18" barrel, 1/7" twist preferred, free float rails (as long as possible) flip up front sights, and reasonably priced. I will be putting this on my S&W lower and selling the upper (knights rails, matech buis, fixed front sight)

I am looking for something new because I shoot using optics 99.9% of the time and I'm tired of seeing the front sight post through my optics. Please let me know if you know any good places to buy or if you see any on the boards for sale or trade. I haven't found any while searching.

thanks

What is "reasonably priced" to you? You could buy a $300 DSA midlength upper and shave the front sight, and install a troy 13.8" rail. add a BCG and That will be around $750

was thinking about bravo company....well reasonably priced...After I sell my upper I don't want to have to add more than $200....$300 at the most

If you can afford BCM, go for it. How much are you hoping to get for your upper?

Not really sure....I haven't looked around at what others are selling for.

What would be a good asking price?  knights rails, matech buis, under 500 rounds down range.

I'm not sure about how much you could get, but you could always put a lowprofile gasblock on your current upper, switch out the rail for something longer and FF'd, then stick a folding front sight on it.

that would also be a possiblity......I'll have to see what way fits my time and wallet better...thanks

I was going to do the same thing as you, but keep the 16" bcm barrel. I would look into a MI T12 which is only about 150 and a low profile gas block which could be about 30-50 depending on the brand. So instead of losing out on cash from selling your upper since its used, just keep the upper and spend about 200 then sell the kac rails.

It depends on what kind of rail you get.
