how does the delton M4 16" chrome molly upper compare to something like the DSA 16" upper that is selling for $275?  Is delton a decent upper for the money?

They are fine.

Yes it is very good for the price. I have two although they are both chrome lined...

This is my DTI M4rgery kit on Stag lower

And my DTI 20" kit on Bushy lower

They both work great and very accurate. The 20" rifle loves IMI M855...

Mine all function great, I think DTI is a very underrated company and they have the best price around on kits.

so would the delton be comparable to the DSA?  They are both about the same price trying to decide which one to get.  and from what I have read both of these would be a better choice than a DPMS?

The shop I work in is a Del-Ton dealer. All our builds are with Del-Ton uppers/lowers and parts.  Not one has ever been returned by a customer with function complaints, or any complaints for that matter.

The DD is chrome lined the Del-Ton is not. I can not tell you a difference in quality as I have never handled a DD rifle but there will be quite a price difference. Try reading all the tacked threads in the ar15 tech section and you will be surprised the amount of info you can find.

Del-Ton has chrome lined as an option. Personally, I am not a big fan of chrome lining. A non-chrome lined barrel will last many years as long as you clean it properly.

I agree, My experience has been overall accuracy is far better with unchromed bores.

Del-ton's gear is good.

I always say that. My first AR was one, it's been to hell and back, and still keeps tickin'... I will say, from my experience, It is the BEST gear for the money...
with THAT said, I'd still pay the extra $ and get a BCM upper...

I'll chime in and say that I have two chrome-lined Del-Ton uppers, and they have been flawless.

Also, thanks erne75 for posting a pic of your 20" DTI upper.  I'd like to order another Del-Ton upper this year, and your 20" is EXACTLY what I am thinking about getting.  I hope you don't mind, but I saved your pic, and i will be looking at it a lot in the coming months.

erne75, what bipod setup do you have on there?

Get out there and start making some extra money so you can buy all the fun crap that bolts onto it when the mail man comes.

I just recently purchased the Del-ton 16" Midlength kit. It is my first AR, but I have only heard good things about them other than sometimes the wait time to get them.. I ordered the chrome moly, with m4 feed ramps and it only took about 2 weeks to get to my door. I was a little worried at first, but 2 weeks works for me. Now for all the accessories!

I've fired over 1000 rounds of Brown Bear and the like out of my Del-Ton middie upper since I've gotten it and finally got my first malfunction a couple of weeks ago. It was a double feed using a used USGI mag I had never used before.

I want to blame the mag but I'm not 100% sure yet since I haven't done any extensive testing and can't remember exactly which mag it was.

For what it's worth, mine is chrome-moly without M4 feedramps.
