I'd try the Spikes tactical one. It is priced great, and you can have it as a stubby or a full length.

Owned a TangoDown, loved it. Hard as tits to get off the rails. Have a LaRue F.U.G. and wouldn't trade it for anything. Heard good things about the Magpul design. Quoted:
I looked at the larue but the price scared me off so i went with the tango Down.I did not like it.I cut it down shorter and glued the cap on... I wish i had got the larue...It has the multiple tips which is nice.I might get it later on.Pic of my "engineered "VFG... http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n225/texjames/002-81.jpg?t=1265514475 If you got the QD stubby it wouldnt be a problem, the only thing the tango down lacks is the 3 diffrent pieces on the bottom that I never use on my FUG, and I think tango down looks better too! Buy what one you like best, for me I need to have a QD mount, I have friends who could care less and cant see spending $80-100 on "just a VFG. I like the FUG and Tango Down, they are on the same level and will be happy with any of the two. |

I like my Daniel Defense grip and the price is not too bad. What I really like is the rough texture it has for a good grip. Which one, Daniel Defense makes a VFG under contract for the military (Crane) as well as their standard one that comes on their weapons. |

Has anyone tried the Troy? I did a review on the Troy VFG for Military Times, check out the link for more information and pictures. Military Times Troy VFG Review

It will be interesting to see how the magpul one plays out. I'm sure it will be an instant success, Magpul can do no wrong right now. Anything they make is the bees knees these days.
That being said, if I ever put rails on either of my AR's I will probably get them. I will go out on a limb and say you will be very surprised at the ruggedness the Tapco stubby offers. It will stay on my 15-22 and 74 for sure. |
