I have a 16" flat top upper with the front site post. It has 7" hand guards on it. I would like to put 9"to 11" guards on it and do away with the front site post.  Is this possiable with the gas tube?

Is there a video around that address this?

Thanks for your time

I think if you get a low-pro gas block you will be fine. I also think IMHO I'd go with 11" rails system, but that just me. Hope that help man.

Shave down the FSP with a dremel. Very easy to do and better than purchasing a low pro gas black that is going to do the same thing.  Your FSP is already drilled for your barrel (im assuming it has taper pins) so you dont have to worry about lining up the gas ports.

ETA: Theres a how to in the build it yourself forums in the sticky up top

Lets you get your hand out there further. They also maximize the iron sight radius. I also think they look better than the shorter rails.

After I thought about buying  new Larue 12" hand guards. I figured I could sell my new upper and for 550.00. Then I could just order a complete stealth system for a few hundred more.
