Is an NP3 plated bolt carrier assembly worth the extra money?
Wilson Combat is selling them for 245.00.
If the plating is a good idea is there anywhere else that has a better price?

That seems about twice what you would pay for a top notch BCG like bravo, spikes, daniel defense, etc... that will function perfectly and last for many many thousands of rounds.

That is a little less than what you would pay to send yours in to Robar to have them do it.

NP3 is good stuff, but there are other finishes that I'm sure will possess some similar qualities:
IonBond (to add longevity to parts from surface wear) Denny's Guns
Chrome (See what you're cleaning) Rainier Arms - Youngs MN
ExoTechnology (by all accounts similar to NP3) Rainier Arms - Fail Zero

I can certainly see worse ways to spend money such as (insert over-engineered accessory here), I'd go with either NP3 or FZ just for the lubrication properties.

I have a sig P220 I did in NP3........it is by FAR the best finish I have ever seen or done on a firearm,  if I had the cake I would every firearm I own in NP3  its that good.......I will never ever have to worry about lube or rust with this sig

I'd get an IONBonded BCM BCG for $200 instead.

depends on who you ask.    I had the money back then and did it and don't regret it.

Now, is that a complete BCG that is NP3'd?   if so, that's a good price.  Since Robar charges like $150 just for the NP3 alone, IIRC.

Here's my duty 6920 w/ NP3'd BCG.    Do I like the finish?  Yes.  It's super easy to clean and provides inherent lubricity.

NP3 is an excellent finish. The entire action of your weapon will feel significantly smoother due to the self lubricating properties of the NP3. The benefit is the embedded Teflon in the finish. Means between failure for  high volume shooting sessions will be significantly reduced. You can expect the cleaning times to be reduced also.
