| Is there a difference in Colt Industries & Colt defense as it relates to specs & quality? I was at a local store looking at a 6920 & noticed the reciever marked Colt industries. Serial # was LE but I've seen some marked Colt defense. |

Do you mean Colt's Manufacturing Company? There are only two firearms related Colt entities now, Colt Defense and Colts Mfg. Co. Colt Industries was the original company but became a big conglomerate corporation and sold off its firearms division in 1989-90. Colt Industries now has no connection to firearms. The lowers before selling off the firearms division were marked "Colt Industries, Firearms Division. Sounds like you may have a 6920 upper on an older receiver? The 6920 wasn't manufactured by Colt Industries.
No difference in quality between Colt Defense and Colts Mfg. Co. All made in the same plant. |
