| I'm building an A2 like I had in the Army and thought I remembered these being metal. I also see these being sold as being plastic. Where to find a metal one? |

I just ordered an Armalite delata ring assembly from DSGArms. It is aluminum and looks quite sturdy. Does anybody have a diagram and instructions on how these are assembled onto the barrel nut? Look for an exploded diagram in one of the merchant suporters of this site. Held together by a snap ring. Pretty simple really. |

So wh is the other one called a slip ring than? Because it was a ring that you would pull back to slip off the handguards. The flat slip ring was much more difficult to operate and remove the handguards with only 1 person, even with a buddy it was a PITA. |
