Well after lurking here for awhile and soaking up some information, I present:
Next week comes the Magpul MBUS, hopefully in March it will be a Primary Arms red dot, and a new stock. Haven't even fired it yet and I can already tell the UTG stock is a no go. But it was free so it will work until I have the funds for a new one. Thanks Arfcom, and for the service you have done me, my next purchase in two weeks will be a team membership! Well I am going to put as many rounds as funds will allow downrange to familiarize myself with the platform. Until today I had never even held an AR. Once I have a better feel for the gun I want to try a quad rail with a grip on it. Just to see where I feel more comfortable.
A more immediate concern for me is this stock. Doesn't feel comfortable at all. Maybe I just need some more time with it, but thats the first thing that bugged me. Still open to any suggestions for a new to this platform shooter! |

Took out the AR for the first time today, and I was pretty impressed. 200 rounds, with only one problem. Around round 140, three rounds in a row, the bolt hesitated before cycling back to fire the next round. It was slight, but enough for me to be able to feel the difference. What could cause this to happen? After those three rounds it didn't do it again, and it didn't do it before. Something with the ammunition? I am a newb to this so please help me!
Pics of me shooting or it didn't happen! This was also my first time ever shooting an AR.

| In the OP I said I am getting my Magpul MBUS next week! But I was still able to use the front sight to hit a man sized target at 150 yards and a duck decoy we found in the desert at 50 by walking my shots in. The inly problem I can see with this thing is how fast you run through the ammo! Its so much fun you start changing mags and don't realize how many rounds you are putting downrange! |
| Depending on when you put them on there I will definitely be interested. I will have to check them out more in depth, and maybe see if any fun stores around here have some I can try out on my shoulder. The UTG wasnt as bad shooting as I thought it would be, but I would like to know for sure that my REAL firearm isn't being shouldered with an airsoft stock! |
