No thanks ! The round was made for body armor piercing capabilities but said ammo is not available to the public.

I do like it as a pistol caliber

thats pretty much what I thought too. Plus I didn't want to stock another caliber.  Thanks

$20 for 50 rounds, like 1400 of them in the boxes fill a 30 cal ammo can perfect and shoots nice too. I am thinking of parting with my PS90 to just run an AR57 SBR upper instead.

I got an AR57 upper for just under $600.  They work well and look good and i love the way the ejection is out the mag well.  Easy to collect brass since all i need to do is put a bucket below where i shoot.  As for as recoil, its is almost like a 22LR.  its good and fun for the ranges that i shoot it at (up to 100yds) and never had a problem with reliabilty.

The downsides to the rifle is that mags are expensive, and a fast mag change is impossible.  Also if u use an optic, it cannot go forward of the receiver or you cannot change mags and ammo availability is not like a 223.

Summing up, i like mine and i will keep mine but it wont be the only AR in my stable.

Why not just buy a 22lr conversion

They're neat, and I'd kinda like one just because ammo hasn't really moved in price in 5 years.  BE WARNED - there is a thread in our Class III section that states the company WILL NOT be releasing full auto BCGs

The AR57 is pretty cool.  I was really interested in it so that I could run my 5.56 silencer on it.  The unit I shot ran well.  And you can shoot pistol gongs without penetrating them unlike regular AR ammo.

The downside is that the ammo is a little on the pricey side.

The deal breaker for me was that they refuse to sell a carrier that will work with an auto sear.  If I was going to plunk down 700 bucks for this thing, I damn well want to be able to throw it on other guy's full auto guns with my silencer.

Here in AK 5.56 ammo is more expensive then  5.7 ammo.

A friend has the AR-57 upper for his M16.  I have shot it a few times and its really fun and  seems reliable. He had a hell of a time getting the bolt and the round is expensive.

I have a 12" upper and a full auto bolt carrier that I bought directly from AR57 center, www.57center.com.  The FA bolts ARE available and in stock.  All you need is the money and send a copy of your form 4 or FFL.  BTW, it has worked flawlessly on my M-16.
