I just got my RRA AR15. I ordered last winter,  I have decided to make this my coyote and varmint rifle.  Is it possible to remove the front sightand replace it with a weaver style gas block?  Is it simple enough to do myself or should I take it to a smith?

That is an easy do-it-yourself job.  Pound out the tapered pins that hold the front sight base in place (make sure that you are hitting from the correct direction and be prepared to hit them HARD) then install the railed gas block.
