how difficult to put together your lower receiver?  given a delton stripped lower and parts kit, how long for a novice?  any special tools needed?

It's easy! Believe me, I'm the most mechanically challenged person in the world, never thought I could do it. Have done 3 now! Basically a set of punches and a small hammer is all I need.

I would use the vice grip method that is included in the link for trigger guard roll pin, as more than 1 person has broken the ear off the lower putting in the trigger guard pin with a punch. If you use a punch fully support the ears. It is easy and doesn't take long.

Yep, it's easy. I did my first lower a few months ago with no special tools and it went well. Vise grips worked great for me. I had a friend who offered to help but I wanted to give it a shot by myself and never needed the help.
